PROG2001 T1 2024 Assessment 2
This project was built to demonstrate the UX design principles and best practices learned throughout the first few weeks of PROG2001 Developing the User Experience.
The project includes a prototype menu for a group project which demonstrates the use of visual feedback on buttons (both on hover, and on click) with colour changes to clearly indicate to the user that the object is clickable. The styling of the buttons also contributes to this by using a visually distinct, brighter background colour than the rest of the game.

Positive: The game details specially with the title scene with all of the lighting effects in the background look amazing, even with the open garage effects happening in the background, and good idea to add a boarder of some sort around the buttons, to separate them from the scene, as well good idea with the smoke coming from the car's exhaust.
Negative: this is being a little nit picky, but would have been a great to add some solid obstacles to the play scene, to give it a bit more of an playable scene. Although the buttons a great, and clear, would have been a bit better in the Play scene, if the buttons were scaled up a bit more, for a ease of use of the buttons.
The use of light/effects really sells the cyberpunk/future style of the menu scene. Having the buttons layed out on a background helps to seperate the interface and makes for an intuitive design. If only you had followed that design through to the game scene I think this would have made for a better user experience overall. In saying that your project is the only example of a game that I would actually consider a game due to the features you have included, such as the jump and flip buttons. Despite the bare bonesness of the scene the game is still fun to mess around with. I think the car controls would be more intuitive if the layout was slightly different. The buttons for drive, turning and reverse are layed out really well. If you had done the same on the opposite side of the screen with the shrink, grow, flip, and jump it would have given the feel of a mobile game kind of interface.
Positive: The game truly shines with its remarkable glow effects and the animation of the car exhaust, which adds a dynamic and immersive quality. The car controls are fun and responsive, making the gameplay enjoyable and engaging. The inclusion of an extra 'Flip' button adds a fun twist to the play menu.
Negative: Given the game's overall excellence, finding areas for improvement is challenging. However, if I was to nitpick, the game's button design could be considered a tad simplistic. Enhancing the buttons with more distinct effects, improved fonts, and sizing could add an extra layer of polish to an already fantastic game. This is a minor suggestion, as the game itself is thoroughly enjoyable and well-crafted.
